If, like us, you have albums you bought years ago with a design that you feel has become a little dated - then check out what Merielle and Lucy did with Scrapbook Mates sale albums. The Colorbok album (currently on sale for a meagre 5 Euros each) can be instantly transformed into a style you know you will love forever. And we love these conversions!
So here is the slightly dated look - The ugly duckling:And here is the Swan (Merielle's transformation):
Supplies:
Colorbok Album (heritage)
Primer: Gesso
Paint: Making Memories
Cracklepaint: Ranger
Speciality glaze: Making Memories (glitter and pearl)
Glaze: Making Memories
Flowers: Heidi Swapp and Prima
Brads: Making Memories
Grungeboard: Tim Holtz for Ranger
Sprinkles: Ranger Bling: DCWV (diva and crown)
Ink: Colorbox
Tape: prima
Ribbon: Offray
Stamps: Autumn Leaves
Embossing Powder: Artemio
I first coated the album with 3 layers of Gesso. After drying I applied (with my fingers) 3 shades of pink and pearl glaze. Mixed it until the whole album was covered. I stamped the images with Colorbox pigment stamp, applied embossing powder in the wet ink and heat embossed it. Final layer is a layer of Glitterglaze. After drying I taped the borders with Prima Tape and outlined it with Glitterglue (Sprinkles- Ranger) I used crackle paint on the grungeboard and inked it a little, finished it of with a layer of glaze Attached all the grungeboard and added prima flowers .
And Lucy thrills us with this little number
