Right Now

Right Now!

This is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful daughter. Jessica inspires us with this layout and shows that journaling is such an essential part of a scrapbook page.

Using a list of favourites is an ideal way to journal even if you find it tricky. Also by using your own handwriting is essential to make it extra personal!

Materials List:
Patterned Paper: Love, Elsie, "Lola"
Doodlebug "Loopy Love" cardstock stickers in Lily White
Making Memories Acrylic Paints: "Strawberries & Cream," "Daiquiri," and "Banana."
Making Memories Specialty Glaze: "Clear Gloss"
Making Memories Foam Stamps: "Stencil"
Sakura Souffle Pens: yellow, white
Rubons: Love, Elsie "Lola"
Ink: Ranger Inks "Black Soot." Color Box "Fresh Green" and "Pink"
Ranger Stickles "Aqua"
Tim Holtz Grunge Board
Felt: Queen & Co. Felt Fusion Scroll Pink

Top Tip:
Here's a quick tip for perfect placement of letter stickers. Use a ruler and stick the bottom of your letter along the top length of the ruler. Use the marks on the ruler as a spacer guide. Once your title is spelled out, place ruler flat on your surface. Firmly press the tops of the letters and gently pull your ruler away.

To Create: First choose your photos. I chose photos that represented the things my daughter loves right now. Add a bit of paint to the edges of the photos. While the paint dries, add your title. Outline the letters and the stamped part of the title. Go over the painted letters with the Making Memories gloss paint to add shine. Completely stamp the grunge board in a solid colour, then lightly go over the raised images with the Ranger Ink. The grunge board arrow is flipped over. When making your journaled list, use rubons to correspond with the photos and write the rest in your own handwriting. Outline the letters to help them stand out more. Adhere your main photo. Cut out some doodles from the Love, Elsie paper and place it underneath the top and bottom portion of the photo. Add a felt scroll as another frame and outline to help it pop. In the area for the rest of your photos, paint the background a solid colour. Cut out another strip from the Elsie paper and put it on the sides. Stagger the photos and use foam dots on two of the photos to help them stand out more. Cut numbers from the Lola numbers paper and paste them on or next to the photo that corresponds to the journaling. Embellish photos further with some Elsie rubons.
