In Honor of Memorial Day

Since today is Memorial Day for the United States, our very own American born designer, Jessica, made a special layout focusing on the loss of her husband's uncle, Sgt. Ronald Summers. Sgt. Summers served in the Vietnam war for only 6 months before he died from a gunshot wound.

SUPPLIES:
Paper: Heidi Swapp World Traveler "Dots," BasicGrey Motifica "Chalk."
Clear Overlay: Hambly Screen Prints Grandma's Wallpaper
Rubons: Daisy D's Rubon Tape "Baseball Stitch," Joann's Crafts Typed Alphabet
Die Cuts: Heidi Swapp World Traveler "Glossy Extras"
Army Medal: Li'l Davis Li'l Trinkets & Treasures "Honor Badges"
Stickers: K&Co Army Stickers
Letter Stickers: Sticko "Nostalgiques by Rebecca Sower"
Ink: ColorBox "Black"
Paper Clips
3D Foam Dots
HOW TO
First arrange your photos on the Heidi Swapp "Dots" paper. Allow an inch border. Roll the edges inward. The paper is thick, so you may have to rub it between your fingers to soften it. Once the paper is rolled, ink the edges to hide most of the white core that may become exposed.
Use the Daisy D's Roll on Rubons to make an inner stitch of the square. Once the rubons have dried, adhere your photos in a random pattern.
Attach the newly distressed photo mat to a piece of Hambly overlay. Use foam dots since a hidden picture tag will go behind here.
The journaling is made with rubons. I like to work backwards when I use these. For some reason, they are centered better.
