HOW TO
Paint Basic Grey – Undressed Monograms with Making Memories – Evergreen paint and set aside to dry. Use paint for outside and inside spine of album.

Cut Crate Paper (Sand CS233), (Longboard CS235), (Lagoon CS234) 7 7/8” x 4 7/8”. Make sure to cut 2 pieces of (Sand CS233).

Adhere papers as shown using Mod Podge/PVA Glue. Let dry. Then, apply glaze to outside and inside covers. Set aside and let dry completely.

Page 1 - Apply Crateboard Letters (“life”) to transparency. Apply desired rubons.

Page 2 – Cut 4”x 6” cardstock. Cut 1” Crate Paper (Kelp CS237) and adhere to top of page.

Page 3 – Cut 4”x 6” cardstock. Select border strip from Diecuts – Crate Paper. Cut 3 ½” for page 3 (Note: the rest (4”) will be used on page 4) and apply as shown.

Page 4 – Cut 4”x 6” cardstock. See step #6.

Page 5 - Cut 4”x 6” cardstock. Cut Crate Paper (Lagoon CS234) 3 x 3 ½” and apply as shown.

Page 6 - Cut 4”x 6” cardstock. Cut Crate Paper (Lagoon CS234) 4” x 6”. Use 2” circle punch. Apply as shown. Use circle sticker in center of punched circle as shown.

Page 7 – Apply Fuzzy Rubons of choice.

Page 8 – Cut Crate Paper (Longboard CS235) 3 3/8” x 3 ¼”. Use 1 ½” square punch. Select Crate Paper ribbon of choice and apply to bottom of square. Adhere to page. Select circle sticker of choice and apply to center of punched square.

HOW TO
Cut a rectangle of ‘Chloe Lynn’ paper and mark the position in centre of layout.
Spray Glimmer mist to the centre/ right of layout.
Glue ‘Chloe Lynn’ paper into position and sew zigzag stitch around the edge. Dry brush cream paint in the centre.
Tear a corner of cork sheet and ink around the edge. Glue into position on centre/bottom of layout.
Cut a thin rectangular border of reverse ‘Chloe Lynn’ paper and add around centre of layout. Add journaling.
Stamp 5 frames onto Scenic Route paper. Cut out three frames then two frame ‘inners’ and mount onto the ‘outers using foam pads. Add photos to frames and glue onto layout.
Cut the birds design from Jenni Bowling paper and glue along the top of the bingo card. Add a clock printed onto reverse of ‘My Friend’ with a 1”circle ‘My Friend’ inner. Set and eyelet in the clock centre and add two paper spirals. Add MME decorative accents (Bracket, leaves and journaling spot with added date). Glue onto layout.
Paint mini bulldog clips, add pearls and add to layout with string accents.
Glue torn pieces of patterned paper around journaling frame, Prima felt and string along bottom of layout.
Finish by adding title.

HOW TO
Cut a 1 cm patterned paper border and sew around the inside edge, attaching it to the cardstock. Machine stitch a rectangle to the top of cardstock.
Paint the doily with stream dabber and when dry glue to the top of layout.
Adhere your photo to a rectangle of orange paper.
Layer strips of patterned paper across the centre of layout, adding the photo on top and semi-circles of patterned paper at the top of photo.
Print bracket shapes onto cream card using the stream dabber. Cut out and glue around the smaller photo.
Cut a circle design from patterned paper and glue onto lined paper for a journaling block. Add journaling and glue to bottom right adding ‘flowers’ cut from patterned paper.
Add buttons, final strips of patterned paper around layout and title.

Making Memories Journaling Book

Acrylic paint, Black Sharpie pen, coloured card, elastic, stapler.

How to:
Paint around the edge of the pre-printed design on the front of the book, blending as you go. When dry, trace over the design with a black sharpie pen.
Add a 3cm wide strip of patterned paper on the right edge of the book.
Measure and cut a piece of elastic and staple into position on the back cover so it forms a loop around the front.
Glue strips of coloured paper on the page edges. I trimmed a few millimetres off each page so they overlap. Finish with letter stickers (included in the journaling book pack).

HOW TO:
For the special accents on the chipboard: take a stamp with lines (or row of dots). Then you press him on chip board, then again in fourth (90 degrees) stroke. So you get a squared effect.
For the wires: take a pencil or pen and wrap the wires around it.

Coloured pencils, buttons, gems, chipboard pieces, red card.

HOW TO
Cut a rectangle of white Bazzill and use patterned papers to create ‘scenery’ and add to layout. I used coloured pencils to shade between the ‘sun rays’. Draw and shade a frame, matt the inner edge with red card and layer on top of your ‘scenery’ with foam pads.
Use chipboard pieces to create an easel stand, paint then ink the edges and add to layout
Draw, then cut a tree and decorate with buttons and gems. Add to corner of frame.
Draw an ‘open book’ on the lined paper. Add photos and patterned paper and fix to left of frame.
Stamp onto lined paper using a journaling stamp and the circle of words. Add to layout and add monsters cut from patterned paper. Add triangles and a strip of paper to the bottom of layout.
Finish with journaling and the title.

Emma- Trick or Treat "Spinner" Board

The trick-or-treaters how go to Emma's house tonight are in for a surprise! "Instead of the usual routine, I thought it would be fun to make a spinner board, based on the one you use in the game 'Twister'. When the kids knock at the door I will let the board decide whether the kids get a treat, or perform a trick!

Corrugated card, acrylic paint, glossy paper, inks, chipboard, raffia, reindeer moss, black mesh, album post and spacer.

How to:
Draw a ‘spinner hand’ on chipboard, cut out and add glossy paper on top then trim again. Paint with crackle paint and leave to dry.
Cut a circle of black and orange patterned paper. Cut the orange circle into 30 degree segments and add to black circle. Decorate with torn strips of lime paper, doodling and add Halloween images and stamped swirls. Finish with words ‘trick’ and ‘treat’ in alternate segments.
Paint a large piece of corrugated card with cream, green and black acrylic paint. When dry, stamp with the large Prima swirl and add black mesh. Add the previously made circle to the centre of the card. Decorate with reindeer moss, raffia and an inked flower and brad.
Punch a hole in the centre of the layout and add the ‘spinner hand’, fixing into place with the album post and spacer. Have fun!

HOW TO
Adhere old paper pieces on paper Verona Ave, paint it over. Draw a frame with fineliner. Pull off the paper Madera Drive and glue it. Distress the edges by ripping. Adhere 3 photos. Stamp the photo frame on Claudia Drive, cut it off then adhere it on the middle photo.
Cut the leaves out the paper Oak Lane. Adhere it just like the leaves fall to the ground.
Make an incision above the frame made by fineliner, stick in the clothes pin. Add ribbons to the top. For the finishing touch, sew along the middle vein of the leaves and on the photo-frame.

HOW TO
Dry brush yellow acrylic paint, and then sponge red paint onto your cardstock. I also added teal paint to create corners on the layout. When dry, glue circles of patterned papers onto the layout that will fit inside the circular rub-ons. Cut a rectangle of “Frosty Dot” and stick down the centre of the layout with a Doodlebug paper frill. Layer photos down the centre of the layout adding the date with a Paper Salon monogram stamp on yellow card. I also added a strip of “Honeydew” paper under the bottom photo that I had used a hole punch along the edge (Cutting into the holes with scissors to create a notebook effect). Add brads, word stickers and cogs. Finish with the title and journaling.

Today's layout is a spooky mix of old and new products. Emma had a photoshoot with the boys, who obviously had a good time making ghoulish faces at the camera with their flashlight.

HOW TO
Cut a 6.5cm strip of “My Boy” and stick to cardstock about 3cm from the top. Layer torn strips of “Linden Street”, “Marina Drive”, “Scrap Strip” and a Doodlebug paper frill
Cut an 8cm wide strip of “Playful”. Layer torn strips of” Marina Drive” and “Delaney Floral”
Add circles cut from “Roundabout” and “Webb Street”
Trace a notepaper shape onto “Delaney Floral” and add another torn strip of “Scrap Strip”. Use this as a photo matt. Cut a green ‘torn edge’ frame for the other photo and add to the layout.
Paint a twig with cream acrylic paint. Cover a chipboard bird with blue paper, add glitter to the ‘tail end’ and finish with Diamond Glaze. When dry add to layout.
Draw a spider web with Waxi pen. Add painted torn strip of corrugated card, onion netting, mesh and reindeer moss to layout. Finish by adding the title and ticket.

HOW TO
Cut a strip of Verona Avenue and add to the right side of your layout (I inked and doodled around all sections added to the layout). On top of this, in the centre, add a rectangle of Oak Lane and Rosalie Street. Finish with a horizontal strip of Rosalie Street. Add your photo which has been matted onto Claudia Drive.
Cut out leaves, flowers and berries from Napa Street, Melody Lane, Oak Lane and Verona Avenue. Doodle around the edges and add to layout around the photo. Use foam pads to add texture.
Cut 1” circles from Verona Avenue, Napa Street, Rosalie Street and Madera Drive and edge with black pen. Add to right of layout.
Finish with a tag and string, a number cut from Claudia Drive and cardstock stickers.

Falling in Love with Fall

HOW TO
Draw boxes for your title and text directly onto your page in pencil and then re draw with the black pen. Accent some of the lines with white pen.
Create your title using a combination of letters drawn directly onto the base and letters and elements drawn onto patterned paper and cut out.
Cut some leaves from the Oak lane paper and ink the edges with brown ink. Arrange there to look like a pile with a photograph in the bottom right hand corner.
Add the other photographs, journaling and some doodled elements.

HOW TO
Use the Oak Lane paper as your base and cut a strip of 5 cm of the Olive Ave paper and adhere to the left portion of your page. Cut a strip of 1,5 cm of the Sierra Place paper and place left on top of the Olive Ave strip.
Cut a piece of 8,5 x 24 cm of the Grove Street paper and adhere to the bottom of your layout. Adhere photos.
Cut the journaling into small strips and adhere right of the photos. Embellish with cardstock stickers, rubons and stamps.

Mireille- **SCENIC ROUTE**

Ever since February Amber is asking me on a daily base "how many days till school?"
She will turn 4 on October 25 and the Monday after that she can start.
There are 2 months to go so I made her a clipboard with a calendar for her bedroom.
Every night before reading a bedtime story we put a little cross in the square of that day.. "another day closer to school"
I hope she will keep this enthousiasm for school for the next years to come.

HOW TO
Paint the corners of the clipboard black.
Take the flower paper, cut it in a rectangle leaving 1 cm of each side. Use a corner rounder and ink the edges.
Print the digital templates on patterned paper and cut them out, ink the edges.
Scenic Route has beautiful paper with numbers on it. Take the number of your choice, cut it and ink the edges.
Cut a rectangle out of the green paper, use a corner rounder and ink the edges. Place the green paper on top of the flower paper and adhere it.
Adhere the calendars on top of the green paper, slightly to the left. Adhere the number on the right side.
Cut the letters out of the square letter stickers. Cut flowers out of the flower paper, adhere the flowers to the right side of the green rectangle and place the letter stickers in the centar. Outline them with a black pen.
Now cut your picture, mat it on red patterned paper, ink the edges and use a black marker around to photo to make it pop.
Place the photo behind your flowers.
Take the chipboard alpha's for your title (and the monogram) and paint them black.
Once they dry, coat them with green and red glitter.
Cut a small strip of yello paper, place that over the clipboard horizontally.
Cut a smaller rectangle on the striped paper and place that at the bottom of the green paper to go under the title.
Use a corner rounder for the lower left and right corner, ink the edges and adhere it to the green paper, now adhere your title to the striped paper.
Use a small circle punch and punch out four circles, ink the edges and put a clear button on top. Stick it together with floss and adhere it to your project with gluedots.
Take a pencil and wrap patterned paper around it. Adhere and cover up the ends with ribbon.
Take a large ribbon to tie it to the clipboard.

Adhere one cut flower to the clipboard, adhere the monogram and the button to the centar.

Lucy shows us how 2 layouts using the Sonoma line from Scenic Route can have a different feel.  One is fun and bright, the other completely romantic with a modern twist.

HOW TO
Around the photo, add some bits of the papers making a frame.
Make a paper bow.
Cut out some butterflies and flowers and embelish it around.
For the flowers just crumple your paper, finish it by adding a bling brad from MM.
The little grass under the flowers is made with masking tape.

HOW TO
Start by chooing a photo (not to big) then cut a little piece of cardboard to mat it.
Paint the cardboard with acrylics with just few strokes.
The cut a strip from the Sonoma collection about 10x25 cm.
Get some bits of paper to complete the frame.
Add some ribbon and lace.
Cut out some flowers and leaves and embellish it under the pic on the side of your ribbon.
Journal and add your title.
You can add some staples if you like.

We have 2 lovely (as always) projects from Christiane. Don't be fooled by the first one...it is not a regular sized layout! It's very little, which makes it a great art piece.

How To
The backgrounds are cut twice from Bazzill Kraft Cardstock. One is painted with crackled paint. Cut out some flowers and leaves from Sonoma Melody Lane. Outline everything with a black pen. Flowers, ribbon, felt and lace are arranged around the photo. To have a 3D-effect glue some flowers on pads!! Punch out a circle from white cardstock and ink it with yellow ink. Write your name on it. The perfect finish for this little layout is a big staple as a rack!!

How To
A half circle with scalloped border is used as a big photo-mat. Everything on this layout is sanded, inked or outlined with a black pen. Strip work along some borders, little half circles right and left from the photos, some leaves and buttons - that's all. Cut your title from Sonoma paper too!! The finish is some handstitching!!

Today we have 2 lovely layouts from one of our French designers, Carole. She was recently named one of the newest design team members for the kit club, A Million Memories. Congrats to her!

Her first layout has lots of clean lines so the focus is on the photo. Her second layout utilizes a panaromic photo size and beautifully handmade flowers, all using Scenic Route.

HOW TO
Cut strips from different papers and put it on your background to make a square. Put the chipboard on the paper and use it as a template. Then cut an area slightly larger than the outline; adhere the chipboard. Adhere all the papers and the picture. Use your sewing machine to make an outline.

HOW TO

Cut a rectangle which is a little bit longer than your picture. Tear and distress the edge opposite your photo. Cut flowers and use its as embellishments. You can also made your own flowers as shown here. Use stickers to make your title.

Emma- Happy Birthday **SCENIC ROUTE**

Today we are starting off our Scenic Route spotlight with a stunning layout from Emma. Notice how she made the color blocks into presents, cut circles, spirals, and stars to mimick confetti. There is so much to look at!

SUPPLIES
Bazzill cardstock (white)
Patterned papers: Scenic Route (Surprise) - Rainbow Road, Skyview Drive, Sunny Lane, Young Street, Butterfield Drive and Scrap strip.
White pen- Ranger Inkessentials.
Inks, coloured pencils, foam pads, ‘happy birthday’ cake decoration, black felt-tipped pen, glue dots

HOW TO
Draw a pencil line around the edge of the cardstock 1cm from the edge then go over with black felt-tipped pen.
Cut circle shapes from Young Street paper and add to top left corner, overlapping them as you work (I also used foam pads on some). Add spirals of coloured paper cut from Rainbow Road paper, fixing into position with glue dots. I repeated this along the right edge later.
Cut several rectangles of paper to go along the bottom and centre of layout (I used Young Street, Skyview Drive, Butterfield Drive, Rainbow Road and Sunny Lane). Edge with felt-tipped pen. I also cut ribbon and bow shapes from patterned paper and added to two rectangles to resemble ‘presents. Arrange on layout and add photos.
Draw a cupcake onto scrap paper and use this as a template to cut from Scrap strip and Skyview Drive papers. Add candles cut from Scrap strip and Skyview Drive then add to layout using foam pads.
Using a ‘happy birthday’ cake decoration I traced around the outline to make my title then coloured around the edge using coloured pencils.
Finish by inking around the edge of your layout, Add journalling in the 1cm gap previously drawn. I added coloured dots punched from Rainbow Road paper.

We have another teacher on our team of designers. Today, Fanny made a piano hinge mini book out of cardstock and color pencils. She used photos of her pupils for this gorgeous themed mini.

SUPPLIES

Papers: Bazzill (black, yellow, red, pink, green), Scenic Route- Appleton "Scrap Strip, Fifth Street, Third Street, Second Street"
Glitter: Stickles Gold
Glossy Accents
Miscellaneous: cork, stamp (handwriting text), dymo ribbon, alpha chipboards, brown ink, 6 color pencils, cord, black pen (posca)

HOW TO
My album is made with 24 photos, but you can use less if you want. Cut 12 strips of Bazzill papers 21 cm x 11 cm. Fold them in half to made 24 folded sheets (10,5 cm x 11cm).
Put two folded sheets together and mark on the fold every 1 cm. Cut out notches on the folded edges.
You now have 11 tabs down the 'spine' of the page. Starting with the top tab, fold every other tab forward. Repeat for all sheets.
Using one of the color pencils and 2 sheets, weave through tab 1 on the first sheet, then through tab 2 on the second sheet, then through tab 3 on the first sheet, then through tab 4 on the second sheet, and so on.
Continue in this manner until you have all pages connected.
Wrap fiber or little cord through top set of color pencils and add dabs of glossy accents occasionally.
Adhere papers on the cover. Ink all papers. Add glitter and Dymo tape.
Add cork cover and adhere photos.

Moniek- School Album

For both of my children I have made an album for their school photo's. I made a sketch which I used for all the pages. On the left page I scrapped the portrait photo and on the right page is the class photo. On the left page, next to the photo, I listed all the important things that happened during this school year and used several brads to highlight the different topics. Below the class photo, I've written all the names of class members, because in a few years I'm sure we will have forgotten a lot of the names.

I have kept the design of the pages rather simple and used a lot of Scenic Route and KI papers in both albums, since they have lots of colors that fits perfectly with school pictures. Every year, when Tim and Bette bring their school photos home, I only have to make another spread based on the same sketch. There is no stress, not a lot of work and their school photos are all in one album!
